The Ministry has established He Ara Tika which is a mentoring programme for secoundary students ("He Ara Tika"). He Ara Tika is an initiative aimed at increasing the participation and achievement of Maori secoundary school students in education.
The objective of He Ara Tika is to encourage and support these students to stay at school and enter tertiary study.
